MINDFUL PLAY

Based on the formal definition of mindfulness, there are three elements that have evolved into what I consider to be Mindful Play:

  1. It invites kids and caregivers to engage in play interactions that naturally integrate awareness of the present moment, while sparking opportunities for meaningful connection.

  2. It encourages caregivers to be more intentional and conscious of the children’s products we select through the prioritization for toys and playthings that are durable, heirloom quality, ethically made and sourced, and/or secondhand but high quality.

  3. It promotes nature play, appreciation for mother nature, and inherent respect for all people and living things.
